Paul Krassner: "But every editor that I know, myself included, was willing to accept a certain prima donna journalism in the demands he would make to cover a particular story - demanding that we send him to Hawaii with three beautiful maidens he could dictate his stories to, for example." Tom Wolfe: "Hunter's life, like his work, was one long barbaric yawp, to use Whitman's term, [“I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world”] of the drug-fueled freedom from and mockery of all conventional proprieties that began in the 1960s. In that enterprise Hunter was something entirely new, something unique in our literary history." Christopher Hitchens: "He was, above all, a highly polished hater, and could fuel himself as well as ignite others with his sheer contempt for Richard Nixon and all that he stood for. This involved, for some years, a life where there was almost no distance between belief and action."

A Hero of Our Time Hunter S. Thompson 1937-2005.

Ένα mentir-vrai.
